STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION: NO ACTION

SUMMARY: Staff will review and compare the Texas Education Agency’s Administrative and Program Budget for the FY 2016-2017 biennium to the FY 2018-2019 Legislative Appropriation Request. The committee will be provided an opportunity to comment on the proposed budgets.

STATUTORY AUTHORITY: Texas Education Code (TEC), §7.055(c).

BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND SIGNIFICANT ISSUES: This item presents the FY 2016-2017 Administrative and Program Budgets passed by the 84th Texas Legislature, Regular Session. The Fiscal Years 2018-2019 Legislative Appropriation Request was submitted to the Legislative Budget Board and the Governor’s Office for the 85th Texas Legislature Session.
