SUMMARY: This item will provide an update on legislation passed by the 85th Texas Legislature during the regular session.

BOARD RESPONSE: Review and comment.

FUTURE ACTION EXPECTED: Staff will provide a report on legislation affecting public education.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND SIGNIFICANT ISSUES: The 85th Session of the Texas Legislature convened on January 10, 2017 and concluded on May 29, 2017.
